A very personal piece for me- this was inspired by my spiritual departure from what was home for me a long time ago. I never felt at peace in the region where I grew up so I, both physically and mentally, left in search of something I did not know of yet. My intent with this was to use as little as possible to imply landscape and texture, with the boat being the main focus of realism. The 'red' home in the distance is, for me, symbolic of the notion of home or origin; something that pervades definition but is definitively there.
